#19. Understand that the King came on a donkey… not a stallion.

I don’t know many groups of girlfriends who haven’t had discussions about wanting men to provide…. financially.

I get it and “I ain’t saying I’m a gold digger,” but I agree. I want him to provide financially, emotionally, financially, spiritually, FINANCIALLY and in every other way imaginable (did I mention financially). I want it all, but I have learned that sometimes you have to dig a little deeper in order to be ready to have it all.

Aside from that, If Jesus, himself, entered into Jerusalem on a donkey and not a stallion, maybe we have to work a little harder to put the idea of providing into perspective. Jesus could’ve galloped in on a stallion (or Maserati) if he wanted to. He could’ve come in however he wanted. This is Jesus we’re talking about. For whatever reason, he chose to come in on a donkey. The good news for women like me who sometimes stress about finances is regardless of how he looked in the beginning, in the end He turns out to be King.

Yes, money matters, but in relationships people grow together.

I suppose, you never know what your sweet, genuine and unconditional love for him could be resurrecting.

“Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
Philippians 4:6

NOTE: My pastor was preaching about a totally different topic when he said, “The King came on a donkey, not a stallion.” For whatever reason, my brain immediately went in full force to how this relates to relationships, dating and love. Happy Easter everyone!
